Lonnie Chu has taught Spanish, English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and technology use at various times since 1991. She's been a pioneer in the use of synchronous and asynchronous online communities for language learning and even her novice-level classes use chat rooms to "speak" with native speakers of the target language.

Ms. Dabrowiak, a native of Chile, holds a Master’s degree in Spanish Languag e, Literature, and Culture from Syracuse University. She has many years of experience teaching language, literature and translation courses at numerous colleges and universities in upstate New York. Her areas of interest include Latin American Literature, and Literary and Technical translation.

Magdelin Montenegro is a Spanish Instructor at Syracuse University. She holds two Masters degrees (Public Administration and International Relations), a nd a Ph.D. (ABD) from Syracuse University. Her interests lie in the general areas of Latin American cultures and their influences in the development of new environments, including the phenomena of Latin American migration that contribute to the formation of new cultures and languages. She has also written on Sustainable Development in Latin America. Her current projects include the study of the differences and similarities of the Hispanic population in US.

Carla Springer teaches Spanish 101 and 102. She has enjoyed a lifelong connection with Spanish and Hispanic culture. She was born in Cuba, and lived in Spain for 5 years as a child. During high school she spent a summer as an exchange student in Costa Rica, and in 1997 she and her children, spent the summer in Ecuador.
