What can a Master's degree in Spanish do for you?
Many of our graduates find rewarding jobs teaching at all levels while others go on to careers in international relations, business, journalism and much more. Outstanding applicants to the M.A. program in Spanish are offered Teaching Assistantships that provide valuable classroom experience to graduate students. Students have the opportunity to obtain the Certificate in University Teaching through participation in the Future Professoriate Program as well as a PLACA Certificate in Advanced Studies. Two years of in-depth study of Latin American, Spanish and U.S. Latino literatures, cultures, and linguistics provides expertise in critical reading, writing and thinking. Our graduates from the M.A. program have continued on to Ph.D. programs at highly ranked universities such as Cornell, The University of Wisconsin-Madison, and The University of Kansas.
