Symposium:  A Quarterly Journal in Modern Literatures has been edited by members of the department since 1946.  In July 2007, Amy S. Wyngaard was named executive editor of the journal, succeeding Augustus Pallotta who served from 1998-2007.  The editorial board is comprised of Professors Gail A. Bulman, Kathryn Everly, Ken Frieden, Harold G. Jones, Augustus Pallotta, and Gerlinde Ulm Sanford.  In addition, Symposium has 17 associate editors from research institutions around the country, including the University of California-Irvine, the University of Chicago, the University of Illinois, Penn State University, Rutgers University, the University of Texas, the University of Wisconsin, and Yale University.  The journal publishes peer-reviewed essays on a variety of modern literatures, including Francophone, French, German, Italian, Latin American, Russian, Spanish, and Yiddish.  Over 400 institutions subscribe to Symposium worldwide.
